Morning reports, 1953-1981.

This series contains the morning or strength reports prepared by the various units of the Florida National Guard from 1953 to 1981. The reports include the total number of personnel assigned to each unit, broken down into enlisted, warrant officers, and commissioned officers. The names of unit members are usually included, along with names of those personnel whose status had changed because of discharge, enlistment, resignation, retirement, or reassignment.

The Florida National Guard was established in 1909 (Ch. 5930, Laws) replacing the Florida State Troops. From 1921 until 1973, the Guard was placed under the Military Dept (Ch. 8502, Laws). In 1973, the Military Dept. became the Dept. of Military Affairs (Ch. 73-93, Laws). The Adjutant General has served as the military head of the Guard since its inception.
